Secret of karma - Good karma can be allocated

Good karma can be allocated

I have a friend, lets call him Mr Tan that does alot of charity, he gives regularly to varies charity however one day i shared with him on the benefits of giving during a group dinner. He complaints to me he doesn't see the results from his good merits. He complaints his health is bad and his children are naughty and hard to discipline.

I ask him a couple of questions to understand more and found out he is rather wealthy with many properties. He could retire if he wanted, even his kids wouldn't need to work a day in their life, he is that wealthy. I believe his wealth is a result of past lifetime karma and current as he started doing charity from youth.

Just to explain further Mr Tan gives without expecting anything, he does so as he want to give back to society. Even as a boy when he saves up his pocket money he would portion some of it to give away. Giving money as donation is a very natural act for him, he wasnt taught by his family or friends he just started this habit naturally. As a result of good karma from giving money he become very wealth.

I enquiry about his health and he tells me he leads a stressful life, sleeps very late, eat during irregular hours, entertain his clients alot drinking alcohol almost daily. No wonder his health was bad, he didnt have time to look after his body, do exercises, relax himself more so spenting any time with his children.

I than told him karma is also create by our current actions and told him if he wanted good health and good children he has do good karma related to it. Such as having a discpline life of sleeping, eating, exercising and cutting down on alcohol (abstaining from intoxication is one of the 5 percepts) will bring good health. From what I see this will be difficult for him because of his lifestyle and business.

I told him giving money brings wealth, but I also inform him to remember to delicate merits towards his health and family each time he does any good merits.

After close to 1 year has pass after this particular meeting, i met Mr Tan again in a shopping centre, he told me the method I taught him worked. Someone bought over his company and he retired. Some how after his retirement he started to change his lifestyle and focus on his family and health.

From this example we see every type of good action will be allocated specifically towards a good result automatically like default.

For example
1) Giving of books or donation to school, library, scholarship can gain fruits of intelligence and wisdom.
2) Giving to free hospitals, clients, health research one can gain fruits of health
3) Giving to old folk homes one will be taken care of
4) Giving of food away to the poor, one will always have food to eat

When good karma is done, merits goes automatically into 1) creation of result related to that particular karma 2) a better next life (for better understanding, read classification of karma - habitual karma)

However instead of choosing a default setting, one can also delicate it towards a certain goal or particularly results.

All merit can be delicated towards a goal or several goals such as success in business, health, good relationship with family, etc.

When certain conditions are met, the good karma seeds will ripen and create the results necesary. This is kind like "The Secret" whereby it talks about intention and results. However it differs in Buddhism as only if a person with sufficient will (intentions) and good merit (good karma) can affect result.

Do it daily so its intention is firmly rooted into your mind and aura. You can even write it down and put it somewhere you see daily, delicate it in front of Buddha.

For example my wish is to have all forms of my merits 1) go into its suppose fruits and results 2) let me be rich and free from material worries 3) always remember the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha and practice till I gain Enlightment.
